After seeing two unique and stunning cultural performances in Vela Luka, ASCA determined to bring both groups to Anacortes. In October 2006, 34 Vela Luka performers traveled to Anacortes and performed in four venues, including Brodniak Hall at Anacortes High School.

The "Klapa Vela Luka" singers and the "Folklorno Društvo Kumpanija" Sword Dancers brought a cultural adventure unlike any other to Anacortes. Although most of the travelers had not been to America before, most of them had friends and relatives among the large Croatian community that has lived in Anacortes for many decades.
